Missing ring(=absent ring, locally absent ring)
A tree ring which in a sample (increment core or stem disc) is absent due to the failure of cambial activity. Missing rings can be located by crossdating.

wedging ring used for tree rings which are discontiniuous(partial, incomplete)

열악한 환경이 지속되어 그 해에 수간 전체 혹은 일부부분에 나이테가 생기지 않는 것으로, 일반적으로 연륜폭 측정된 값을 상호비교를 통해서 찾아 낼 수 있다.
